There was recently a program on channel 4 on how 'hip hop changed the world' this is a significant event in history and in music as black and white people were divided in the past. In todays society highlighting hip-hop’s birth and early development in the 1970s, followed by its growth in the 80s and shift which saw artists battling for mainstream recognition against the pop industry while addressing issues such as gang violence, misogyny and censorship and racism, before moving onwards to the conquering of corporate America in the 90s and continuing to conquer the world today.
They concluded with the final change of the world which was having a black president and ultimately changing society and making equality prominent in todays world thus making Hip Hop available to all walks of life and making it acceptable making not just Hip Hop but RnB one of the greatest loved genres amongst young adults.
